Julie Swinsco, Artist – Delivery & Returns Policy

INTRODUCTION

I want your experience of buying my art to be smooth and enjoyable. That’s why I’ve set out a clear delivery and returns policy. Here you can find information about UK shipping, collection options, and your 14-day return rights. For international orders, please get in touch with me directly for bespoke advice.

Delivery

At Julie Swinsco, Artist, I want you to feel confident when purchasing my work. Every artwork is prepared, packaged, and shipped with the greatest care.

  • I aim to dispatch all UK orders within 7–14 days after order confirmation, unless a different timeframe is stated for a particular artwork or print.
  • Framed originals may take longer due to extra checks, careful inspection, and packaging.

UK Delivery

Giclée Prints

Standard UK delivery (including packaging) is £5.

  • Prints are supplied mounted and unframed, ready for you to place in a frame of your choice.
  • Prints are carefully packed flat or in reinforced packaging to ensure they arrive in pristine condition.

Original Paintings

I take exceptional care in packaging all original artworks:

  • Each corner is protected with foam guards.
  • The painting surface is wrapped in layers of bubble wrap.
A hardboard layer shields the painting from knocks or pressure.
The artwork is then placed into rigid cardboard packaging for maximum protection.
  • Paintings are dispatched by DPD or Parcelforce and sent fully insured against loss or damage.

Delivery costs are based on size:

Large Paintings (1m to 1.2m in height): £55
Medium Paintings: £35
Small Paintings: £20

Shipping costs will always be clearly shown at checkout.

Collection from the Studio

Free collection from my studio is available by prior arrangement only. Please allow 24 hours’ notice so your artwork can be packaged and ready for you.

Originals vs. Giclée Prints

Framed originals are unique works and require extra time for careful inspection and handling before dispatch. Because of this, delivery may take slightly longer than prints. Fine Art Giclée Prints are usually ready to send within the stated timeframe, as they are supplied mounted and unframed, ready for you to add your own choice of frame.

Returns (UK Customers)

  • If you are a UK consumer buying directly from my Website, you have a 14-day cooling-off period (Distance Selling Regulations). This starts the day after you receive your artwork.
  • To return, you must inform me in writing or by email within those 14 days. The artwork or print must be returned in its original condition and packaging.
  • You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is faulty, misdescribed, or damaged in transit. In such cases, I will cover reasonable return costs.
  • Once I receive the work and confirm its condition, I will process your refund within 14 days back to your original payment method.

Faulty or Damaged Items

I want you to be delighted with your new artwork. However, if a piece arrives damaged, I’ll work with you to put things right. Please contact me within 48 hours of delivery so I can start the claims process with the courier. I will arrange a repair, replacement, or full refund depending on the situation.

Photos and damaged packages

  • Always take a photo of the item and of the package, making sure the delivery label is clearly visible.
  • If the shipment arrives damaged, please either refuse the delivery or ask the courier to note clear reservations on the delivery slip.
  • Please do not throw away the damaged package or box — photos will be needed when you file your claim.
  • If your email address was included with the package insurance, you’ll also receive an automatic message with details on how to proceed.

Once I receive your photos and information, I will liaise with the courier on your behalf. Because all original paintings are fully insured, you can feel confident that you will either receive a replacement (if possible) or a full refund.

Non-UK / International Orders

  • If you are outside the UK, please contact me before ordering.
  • I will provide bespoke delivery options, estimated shipping costs, and advice on customs, duties, or taxes.
  • You will be responsible for paying any import charges or taxes required in your country.
  • Please note that delivery times will be longer for international orders.

Other Terms

  • Shipping times are estimates only. Delays may happen due to carrier issues, customs, or other factors outside my control. I will always keep you updated if I am aware of delays.
  • Ownership of the artwork transfers to you once payment is cleared, but risk (damage or loss) passes to you upon delivery or collection.
  • Please inspect your artwork on delivery and notify me immediately of any issues.
